Election 2018

Peebles Community Council

Election 2018

Nominations are being sought for Peebles Community Council.  The chairman, Lawrie Hayworth, says ‘There are many big issues in Peebles at present including, of course, the future of the March Street Mill site.  We welcome all nominations and hope that the Community Council will represent the views of as many different individuals and backgrounds as possible.’  Candidates must be 16 or over and their names must appear on the Electoral Register.

Peebles Community Council meets in the evening of the second Thursday of each month in the Old Burgh Chamber at the Chambers Institution.  As well as being a statutory body which is consulted on all local and central government decisions regarding the town, the Community Council is also proactive in organising and supporting local projects.

Nomination forms are available from Peebles Library, the Post Office in the Eastgate, online at http://www.peeblescommunity.org/document-type/community-council and by email from the Secretary (secretary@ccrbpeebles.co.uk).  The closing date for nominations is Tuesday 27th March 2018 and the election, if required, will be held on Tuesday 17th April 2018.
