The Christmas Lights Turn-on

2013 Thurs 5th December - To celebrate the switching on of the Peebles Christmas Lights along the High Street, Northgate and Old Town, the High Street is closed off for the evening and townspeople take advantage of the opportunity to engage in a little seasonal celebration, a little retail therapy with many shops open til late, and a host of food, craft and gift stalls, music, and oodles of bonhomie.  Shop-keepers also offer nibbles and a little alcoholic or non-alcoholic refreshment to new and old customers in an altogether mellow, olde worldy evening out under our great street illuminations.
